It’s high time Nigerian youths should know that protest or revolution is an outdated and ineffective strategy to bring about a political change in the country, try another strategy.
Instead of Sowore Omoyele and his party, the African Action Congress (AAC) to strengthen the activities of their party through grassroots development programs towards the 2023 General election, by that, they can contribute to the development of the people at the grassroots level, they thought of revolution.
When the Nigerian government and security forces proclaimed the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) a terrorist organisation, nobody begs them before they suspended the demonstrations.
Initially, IMN was confronted with one problem, how to free its leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky but now the group is confronted with two problems, i.e. how to free its leader and how to challenge the government’s proscription in the court even the Iranian government can’t secure the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
If the African Action Congress (AAC) should go on with its proposed revolution despite the arrest of its chairman, Sowore Omoyele, what befall IMN and IPOB might befall the African Action Congress (AAC), with that the INEC will deregister the party and that would be the end of the African Action Congress (AAC).
The statements made by Atiku Abubakar, Fela Durotoye and Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili regards to the arrest of Sowore Omoyele by DSS operatives are worrisome, I asked myself do these people have another country apart from Nigeria or they didn’t know the difference between a call for protest and a call for revolution because if they do, they wouldn’t condemn the arrest of Sowore Omoyele except they are being sentimental.
Meanwhile, the IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has warned that a planned revolution march organised by the Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria is an act of treason and terrorism, if Atiku Abubakar, Fela Durotoye and Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili thought that to march for revolution is constitutionally guaranteed, then they should join on Monday.
Sowore Omoyele inciting self-immolations, like what helped incite the Arab Spring and some people saying Sowore‘s right to protest is constitutionally guaranteed, maybe those people should set themselves on fire, to show their support for him.
